Ruländer is the old German name for Grauburgunder, and Niklas Rückrich treats it the old way too: fermented on the skins into a proper orange wine. Fourth-generation family vines on volcanic porphyry in Eckelsheim, organic farming, wild yeasts, minimal sulphur, no filtration.

Coppery, gently grippy, warm stone fruit with a mineral finish. Old name, old method, very current wine.

Drink with: duck, aged cheese, or spiced anything.
