Madame Flöck | The Wolfgang 2023

Robert Kane is an American who moved to the Terrassen Mosel to rescue forgotten, stupidly steep terraced vineyards that everyone else had given up on. The Wolfgang is his flagship: old ungrafted Riesling vines, wild fermentation, a few days on the skins, long barrel ageing, bottled unfiltered with barely any sulphur. Only a tiny amount gets made each year.

The result sits somewhere between Mosel and Jura: bone-dry, deep and savoury rather than fruity. Not an everyday bottle. That's the point.
